Starting off a new season with a bang

Well starting off tonight in our new digs was very encouraging. The house was packed and our speaker was superb. As the president of this chapter I was honored to be with officers as hard working as you guys are.It was great to see so many new faces as well as the reliable members that have stuck with the program from its dismal beginning. Keep up all the good work members and officers spread the word, because we definitely have the potential to become a great force in our industry. thanks again to all who participated.

Lehigh Valley RSES September meeting

At the start of the new post, we all need to take a moment to remember in our own way the tragic loss this day six years ago. Take a moment now.

I hope that everyone who stumbles across this blog had a great summer! Were you able to get some vacation time in? Hopefully you all were able to spend some quality and quantity time with your families and loved ones.

Now that the season is almost officially over, we can turn our attention to some activities of our local chapter. I am hoping that all of you members are looking forward to some great offerings that we have planned for our local meetings!

On Thursday September 27 at 6PM we are going to have an excellent presentation from Mr. Lou Abruzzese from Sporlan valve on TEV valves. Come out and learn something. Even if you learn one new thing, it's worth the investment of a couple of hours.

Since the Moravain "doghouse" seems to be unavailable to us, we have been able to secure meeting space at the ABC training center in Allentown. That's Associated Building Contractors and the address is

ABC

1036 N. Godfrey St.

Allentown, Pa. 18109

We appreciate that this organization has graciously offered us the use of their building and meetings rooms. There are even labs that include a lot of HVAC equipment that will be available for our use from time to time.

From Rt. 22 in Bethlehem take Airport Rd. South to Union Blvd. Turn right onto Union Blvd. and follow to Godfrey St. ( Watch for the Wendy's on the corner). Turn right onto Godfrey and look for ABC a short distance on the right.

Since RSES is non political organization we won't get involved in taking sides on any issue other than our common goals of furthering the education and knowledge of the HVAC professional

Is anybody planning on attending the EKA training in Pittsburgh the weekend of October 6? I'm going to try to leave immediately after work and take in some excellent offerings on Saturday.

IAQ/UV, Gas pressure regulators, Power venting, Combustion testing, Motor sheaves and drives are the offerings for the day followed by testing for the CM and CMS. In the evening will be the Delegate Business meeting and dinner.

The next EKA training will be in NYC in January at AHR expo. We gotta go as a chapter! This is too big and too close to ignore.

And don't forget that we have 3-5 chapter members who are getting close to taking the CM exam in April. I'm particularly proud that these members have really taken the initiative to study on their own and meet to encourage and hold each other accountable for completing the material. These are exceptional people.

Hey, by the way did you know that Mr. Kevin Wasieleski CM is almost finished writing a book about heat pumps. He has agreed to speak at our April meeting.

It never stops! I mean learning. If you do stop learning your going to dry up like an old leather shoe. See you on the 27th!
