Turkey Day and Lehigh Valley RSES

Well after I sent most of you the monthly newsletter, I realized that the monthly meeting was actually scheduled for Thanksgiving Day. As much as I love RSES and our monthly meetings I don't think any of you would show up on this very special Holiday(By the way, don't we all have much to be thankful for).
As it turns out we were having a problem getting a speaker for the meeting and I got this e-mail from our own Mr. Kevin Wasielewski CM who is an instructor at CIT in Forks township right outside of Easton, Pa.
He has invited us to a Field Controls seminar on November 27 from 4PM to 9PM at CIT.
There are four sessions. The first session starts at 4PM and the last session ends at 9PM. Each session is one hour long followed by a 20 min. break with refreshments included.
The sessions are on Draft, Venting, Combustion Air and UV IAQ equipment. I'm not sure of the order of the sessions, but I think they are in order as listed. Probably most of you can't attend all of the sessions due to work schedules , but you are welcome to come after work and stay as long as you are able.
Now here is the real special deal for all chapter members. The cost for each session is $7 or $20 for all four. If you are a LVRSES chapter member we will offer a scholarship up to one half the cost of the sessions. You can't beat it!
We really need to hear from you as far as registration is concerned. Contact an officer to make your reservations.
Plan to show up for some or all of the sessions. Another added bonus is that these sessions are NATE and NORA approved and can be used for recertification requirements. A lot of you have been asking for such seminars. Well, here it is!
Directions to Career Institute of Technology (CIT):
Follow Route 22 to Route 33 North to the Stockertown exit(Rt. 191). At the end of the ramp turn right onto Rt.191 for approx. 150 yds. to the traffic light. Turn right onto Sullivan Trail (Main St.) South for 1 and1/2 miles to traffic light. Turn left onto Uhler Rd. and follow for approx. 1 mile to traffic light. Turn left onto Kesslersville Rd. CIT is located approx. 1 mile North on Kesslersville Rd. on the right side. Ask at office for classroom location.

November Meeting scheduled at ABC

Lehigh Valley Chapter 02314

Before I talk about the November meeting, let me recap a little bit about the October meeting down at Dynatherm Headquarters right outside of Coopersburg.

It was a very educational and enjoyable evening. This is the third time that I've attended a Carlin burner seminar and I always come away with something new that I missed or forgot. Bruce Graham is an excellent presenter who uses humor very effectively to keep your attention and drive home some important points. Just getting all the free material and Carlin gauges is more than enough to make my day, but a clear and memorable presentation is bonus for all who were able to attend.

We also want to thank Kerry Moyer for hosting the seminar at his company headquarters: Dynatherm Boilers. I asked Kerry if he was going to give us a talk about Dynatherm, but he very graciously said that he wanted Bruce to have the evening. Kerry also provided and cooked the refreshments for the evening.

It was nice to see a good attendance at the meeting. Our chapter members were well represented and we were able to meet some new folks and talk to them about the RSES opportunity in our area.

That leads me to the meeting for this month: Thursday November 22, 6-9PM at ABC training center.

We will have an educational presentation followed by a short business meeting. Unfortunately Harold Myers will be unable to come for the session on defrost controls. We have some other possibilities for speakers, so plan to attend. Hey, we can always head out to the lab area and try to stump each other on the refrigeration trainer or some of the other assorted HVAC equipment.
There will be no meeting in December. The month is busy enough for all of us, but mark you calendar for January's meeting: Thursday January 24 for Honeywell Burner controls.
Just in case you need it, here are the directions to ABC training center:
From route 22 in Bethlehem, follow Airport Rd. South to Union Blvd.
Turn right onto Union Blvd. (heading West) and follow to Godfrey St.
turn right onto Godfrey St. and ABC is on your left.
1036 N. Godfrey St. ,Allentown , Pa., 18109
Hope to see you all there!
